Access Profiles

🧭 Overview

This is the place to begin your journey with Prison Professors Profiles. Whether you're preparing for a sentencing hearing, just beginning your time inside, or already working to build your reputation for success, this system is built to help you document growth, influence stakeholders, and create your body of work.

This tutorial shows you how to access the platform and begin building—or supporting—a profile.

🔐 What You’ll Need

  • Access to https://prisonprofessors.org

  • A User ID and Password, which you’ll receive after registering

  • If you're incarcerated: a trusted partner (friend, family member, mentor) who can manage your page on your behalf

💡 Why This Step Matters

Your profile is more than a webpage. It’s your public record of:

  • Personal development

  • Effort toward reconciliation

  • Preparedness for success

  • Merit-based advocacy

“It made a huge difference in my own preparations for success when I got out of prison. I was able to persuade people to become advocates for me.” — Michael Santos

đŸ–±ïž Step-by-Step: Getting Started

  1. Go to https://prisonprofessors.org

  2. Click the Profiles button in the top-right corner (blue or purple highlight)

  3. On the Profiles landing page, choose one of two options:

    • ✅ Build Your Profile
For individuals who are online and ready to begin now
(Ideal for people at home before self-surrender or on supervised release)

    • đŸ€ Become a Profile Partner
For family members, friends, or mentors of someone inside

      • Fill out a simple request form

      • You’ll be asked to enter identifying information

      • Upon approval, you’ll receive a User ID and Password

  4. Once your account is created, use the Sign In button to log in with your email and password.

đŸ§± Building While Inside

If you're incarcerated, empower someone outside to manage your profile. That person can:

  • Submit updates

  • Upload journal entries, book reports, and progress milestones

  • Help you build a support system over time

You can also work with Prison Professors by mail if you don’t have anyone outside. We will help you build.

📈 Long-Term Value

By starting early and updating regularly, your profile becomes:

  • Evidence of rehabilitation

  • A signal to case managers and administrators that you're invested in merit-based progress

  • A tool to help others advocate for your release

“I was able to create income opportunities and jobs that were waiting for me before I got out.” — Michael Santos
