Improving Cultures
We create customized staff-training programs designed to enhance the culture within correctional facilities. Our training boosts staff morale by highlighting the powerful role each team member plays in shaping positive outcomes for incarcerated individuals. By investing in staff development, we foster healthier institutional environments and stronger, safer communities.

Improving Culture of Confinement
Get Self-directed lessons
We provide resources for educators who work in jails and prisons. All lessons are freely available for download from our website. We also offer soft-cover workbooks and video tutorials to teach and inspire. Students learn skills that both teach and inspire, showing them the relationship between decisions in prison and their prospects for success upon release. We're working to be the change we want to see.

Message from Warden
After visiting USP Florence, I received a message from the warden. The warden wrote to thank me for my time and spoke about the "positive vibe on the USP compound" after I finished the full day of presentations. The warden also sent feedback on what people who attended the presentation wrote to family:
"We just got back from a seminar and it was very nice to go to it n hear the dude. He did [26] years in prison and he got out n changed his life. I'm interested in his program "Preparing for Success after Prison. His name is Michael Santos. Look him up on the web and get me some info. It would help me out tons."
Reaching 1,000,000 people in 1,000+ jails and prisons
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has approved our course, "Preparing for Success After Prison" as a Productive Activity under the First Step Act. The California Department of Corrections makes several of our courses available in every state prison. People who qualify earn FSA or Milestone Credits, which advance their release dates when they complete our courses. Through our collaboration with the Edovo Foundation we're reaching 1 million people.
We work to be the change we want to see.
Our Impact
The United States incarcerates more people than any other country, with more than 2 million individuals cycling through jails and prisons. More than 6 million people live with a criminal record.
In one way or another, our criminal justice system affects our entire nation. At Prison Professors, our team develops self-directed resources to help individuals who want to return to society with their dignity intact and with opportunities to live as fully-functioning, law-abiding citizens.
With budgets being strained and personnel shortages, those who work in jails and prisons don't always have resources to provide classroom space or even books.
We strive to improve the outcomes of America's jails and prisons by creating books, self-directed courses, daily lessons, along with video and audio files to teach and inspire people in prison.
Through our courses, participants learn how to use time inside to prepare for success upon release. They can develop a more robust vocabulary, they can improve writing and reading skills. They can learn to think differently, developing the CEO mindset.
People who work through our courses leave prison with the skills and resources necessary to succeed. In many cases, we visit institutions to make in-person presentations.
Let's Collaborate
I'm Michael Santos. I've visited state and federal prisons nationwide, delivering train-the-trainer programs and inspirational presentations designed to empower both staff and people serving sentences. My presentations draw upon timeless lessons from leaders such as Socrates, Frederick Douglass, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Viktor Frankl. These remarkable figures taught me that regardless of past decisions, each of us can reconcile with society, grow, and prepare for lasting success.
