Learning Hub

Today, I want to share an update on a new section we’re building on the Prison Professors website.

Previously, we created a hub designed specifically for people who work inside the Federal Bureau of Prisons. That hub helps teachers, administrators, and staff quickly locate specific courses, download all related assets, and understand how to use those courses to support people who want to help themselves while in prison.

Those courses align with our commitment to offer free educational resources. They also prepare us for the nationwide rollout of tablets, which will make it easier for people in prison to access learning tools without cost.

Today, we began building a new hub for another important segment of our community: people who are facing challenges within the criminal justice system.

At every stage of the process, a person should be thinking about mitigation. If someone learns they are the subject of a government investigation, or if authorities bring a federal charge, the first step is usually to hire a defense attorney. That step is important—but it’s not enough.

A person should also invest time in learning.

For that reason, this new hub will feature comprehensive, self-directed courses designed to help people prepare at various stages of the journey. The hub will explain each course, why it matters, and when it is most relevant. Visitors will be able to identify the resources that apply to their situation and act quickly.

When someone clicks into a course, they’ll find all available assets in one place. That includes written materials, audio versions, and—when appropriate—video lessons. The goal is to make preparation accessible, regardless of learning style or circumstance.

We hope this hub will help more people take ownership of their future, build effective mitigation strategies, and work toward better outcomes. The sooner someone begins preparing, the more options remain available.

Ultimately, this is about learning to think strategically and live as if you are the CEO of your life—no matter where you are in the process. Participants will get courses on:

  • How to Prepare a Sentence Narrative
  • How to Prepare for the PSR
  • How to Prepare Character Reference Letter Campaigns

We’ll continue building, refining, and expanding these resources. Our commitment remains the same: to provide free tools that empower people to prepare, document their effort, and pursue the best possible outcome at every stage of the journey.
