Release Plans

Every successful project begins with a blueprint—and so should a successful return to society. Just like a real estate developer maps out obstacles, timelines, and required resources before breaking ground, a person in prison should design a release plan that anticipates challenges and lays out clear steps for success. A strong release plan demonstrates intentionality, discipline, and readiness to overcome adversity—not with excuses, but with action.

We encourage every member to build and regularly revise their release plan. A strong plan outlines goals, strategies, and support systems in areas like housing, employment, education, and personal development. It shows that a person has thought deeply about the road ahead—and is doing the work now to prepare for it. These plans become key documents in clemency petitions, parole hearings, or job applications. Most importantly, they show stakeholders that this person isn’t just hoping for change—they’re engineering it.
